That's expensive then...

But aside from that the damage isn't trivial, the whole socket assembly has been ripped from the metal casing of the camera and leaving a much enlarged exit hole in the metal, something that will need fixing by replacing both the tripod socket and the baseplate of the camera.

I can't imaging this happening without the use of ​considerable​ force, nor can I see any reason to suspect cross-threading since that would effect only the tripod bush which isn't even shown in the image. It would be interesting to see the missing part as well.
