There can be two reasons for this I can come up with (in a very simplisitc way):

1) They do not get it

2) We don't get it

1) They don't get it: RF cam sells by the buckets full but Oly and Panny rather want to sell an EVF with extra profits (for instance)

2) RF styled cams are not that important, they get sold but not nearly as much as we think they do. It is a comparetively small market....

My take: 1. I have seen more than once that a company simply does not get it. If we go by what we know (we!) we look at this forum and 43rumors and it is very very very clear what we want. If we look at Fuji and Sony. They only sell RF styled cams or mostly nowadays...

Some companies simply do not get it.  We have seen how long it took Olympus to put in something as simple as a orientation sensor in its E-PLx camera.  The new E-PL5 has it now.  Finally!  However we still have the way too wide LCD in these small cameras.  How long will it take Olympus to get it?  Probably in the E-PL9, if ever.  And a built-in flash?  Well, they took it off after the E-PL2.  Ha.  So, it means they actually thought about it and it is not an oversight, and so we probably won't see it any time soon.  As for a built-in EVF in a rangefinder camera.  Good luck if you wait.  I think they want to sell EVFs more.  Penny wise and pound foolish IMO.  You can only sell EVFs when people buy your cameras and only some of those buyers would buy an expensive add-on EVF.  Moreover, once a buyer has bought one, he/she won't buy another one even when buying new cameras.

The NEX-6 is selling well apparently for having everything built in, thanks to Olympus and Panasonic.  An equivalent M43 all-in-one camera should be smaller and more attractive due to all their small M43 lenses, but will Panasonic and Olympus get it?
