RC Mode is definitely on (it does trigger my off camera flash). But still contributes a little to the exposure. If I take a photo in a mirror, for example, both flashes are lit... With RC Mode on, you get the extra flash panel instead of the SCP, and I have the on camera flash set to OFF.
Are you sure you don't get ANY light from the on camera trigger? If you have a macro flash in front of it, I can't imagine it would impact exposure much.
