Post processing noise from an image.
Nov 25, 2012

Let me start by saying I'm a beginner to photography but have always been interested in it as a hobby and hope to learn a lot from this community.

I've been researching cameras for a while and finally decided to go with the NEX F3 for the creative controls (I'm loving control over the exposure triangle, though sometimes hindered by the not very intuitive GUI), size (I would not feel very comfortable holding a brick of a DSLR for casual shooting) and great sensor quality.

I'm still learning my way around the camera and one thing I noticed about it is that high ISO shoots, although of great quality, produces visible chromatic noise as opposed to just luminance ones, and in my opinion luminance noise looks more pleasing to the eye.

Is there a way to post process chromatic noise so it look looks more like luminance noise?

Cheers!
