I have Panasonic 14-45mm/f3.5-5.6 and I never particularly liked it. My copy is not perfectly sharp at wide end, but the main reason is that it doesn't offer anything special. It has not enough low light performance or depth of field to be significantly better than smaller profi compact cameras with higher apertures. I had "historic" Canon G6 before with 35-140mm eq. zoom and aperture in range f2-3. It was quite worse in the dark due to very old sensor and lack of IS, but depth of field was comparable or better and it had far better close up performance so I was disappointed with this kit zoom but used it.
I like 20mm/f1.7 a lot which was my kit lens with GF1 and I can't see the reason why it is not kit lens for GX1 anymore. I like 12-35mm/f2.8 because of it's low light performance, better usability for close up and portraits then kit zoom. And I sometimes like photos taken with 45-200 although this lens is not perfect nor comfortable to carry.
