Gee, Thanks' to all for your kind comments
The link was more to provide "real life" situations of various kind, with D700 an D3x, for all to see that the 85/1.8 D wasn't a bad lens in itself! I bought it for the D700 as I had a trip to Mongolia. It even fell from my vest pocket at the airport in Seoul on my booted toes (happily), it suffered rain, cold, and numerous abuse in my everyday satchel (cloth), and still works like a charm.
Because it still has an aperture ring, I can also use it with my FM2n camera in manual mode (that's the main problem I find with G lenses for otherwise a great quality). But on my AF cameras, it's quick and precise enough.
In an era where we are compelled to buy the latest hardware at a price, I just wanted to show that the most important part of a camera, the lens, can be cheap enough, old enough, and efficient enough...
Thanks again...
