How to correct RAW images from NEX6/SELP1650 in Lightroom 4?
Nov 25, 2012

Hi,

first of all I am completely new to RAW processing, but I think I understand a bit about imageprocessing in general. Since Lightroom just got a profile for the SELP1650 I thought I give it a try.

The problem I ran into is that on the snapshots I took below you can see very harsch noise in the corners of the image, especially in the top ones, after the distortion correction. The jpeg straight from the camera shows some signs of this but at least the color noise is not as bad.

I believe the camera does some more agressive noise reduction to the edges, but even with the brush in Lightroom I was not able to reproduce it. Removing chromatic aberrations also did not help much. Is there a way to get rid of this noise in Lightroom?
