http://openwide.zenfolio.com/p316031032I too have the same combo. Just went to Vegas with the D4/70-200/14-24 as well as the RX100. Ended up with about ten shots from the D4 and 250 from the RX100. The Sony photos are here, jpg straight out of camera with zero processing:  
i have been to Vegas many times and have always brought a DSLR. This is the first time with a point and shoot. The advantages are: light, faster to use,  unobtrusive and I also ended up with more pics of myself because other people want to borrow the Sony but never the DSLR. The disadvantages compared to the D4:  a bit more noise, a bit less sharp, weak flash, weak/slow telephoto reach.
i think travelling with a DSLR/telephoto lens and a RX100 is the perfect combo.  Will be trying it out in Hawaii next month.
