No, this is not a troll. I've been a casual Nikon shooter since my first film Nikormat FE2 black body, in the late '70s. I have not followed in details the current line up of lens or digital bodies, but it seems to me that Nikon is always slightly behind Canon, with the exception of low light camera like the D3s. I read that Nikon vibration reduction, VR, was about 9 years behind Canon. Am I correct in my thinking that Nikon is always trying to catch up?

As you have probably already been told, Nikon is behind Canon in only one category, market share. I would bet there are more than happy with their market share.

They surely are, as the second quarter results showed... (27% increase in DSLR sales than 2011)... In fact I am not so sure that Nikon is behind Canon in DSLR market anymore... Mind you that Canon's sales results announcement were no where near as good as Nikon's... Besides, I am sure that Nikon is currently well ahead of Canon in the FF market, possibly by a great margin (as sale lists of the major stores/dealers show worldwide).

May I remind you of my recent post that the OP seem to have missed?
