This being a Nikon specific forum, dedicated to Pro DSLR bodies, I take it that you mean "Nikon Pro", when you say "modern"?

When I bought a D3s, I was disappointed to find that the screen had no grid. Nikon-UK pointed out that there were a number of different screens that I could fit. I ordered, found the instructions that came with the screen to be pretty limited, but then found better in the camera manual, and, hety presto! I'm satisfied.

If you go to https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9288/kw/Fcussing%20screen you'll find a pretty unhelpful page on many different focussing screens. Whether any of them will suit whatever camera body you have, I have no idea!

Good luck.
