I don't think that would be a good idea, because the EVF takes its time to "boot up". It takes about 5-10s for it to reach full luminosity.
You can actually replicate the behaviour by dialing in the 30s auto-power off, disable the LCD and enable "quick" start-up.
Problem is that it's sometimes required to hit the shutter button multiple times for the camera to respond.
Iit's also a bit weird that the menu is displayed on the EVF when hitting the menu button while the camera can detect that no eye is anywhere near.
