Posted this on the Open Forum but got no reply so thought I would try with the real experts!

There appear to be quite a few programs available for tethering, ranging in price from $29 to over $150. I have recently downloaded "Control my Nikon" on a 14 day free trial and a fairly impressed with it. As I know nothing of the options available, I wondered what you guys thought was the best way to go, bearing in mind I will not be using it a lot.

I've had control my nikon for about a year and found it to be quite good for what I do, esp for the price. I use it with a small laptop for exposure bracketing and focus stacking.  Depends what you want to do with the tethering, LR allows you to do tethering too.
