This is a significant photo. It might lead other people to observe these birds and see if they can spot similar behavior. It's not unknown that ravens and their relatives may do such things.

Many years ago, a pet raven and a dog lived at a South African ranch. They became good friends and played together. One day, the dog was exploring and got caught in a leg trap next to a creek, some distance from the ranch. After several weeks, the rancher noticed that the raven was flying away with bits of bread and meat from its own food dish. He tracked the raven for a few days and found the dog. The raven had been carrying food to it all that time and it could drink from the stream, so it survived.
