OK, in RAW white balance can be adjusted throughout its entire range.  Daylight is around 5,700K so have a look at the pic with this setting on the slider/scale.  If you had set the camera for daylight this is the picture you would have taken.  Just curious see how close it is to your memory of the scene.  When you settle on a Kelvin temperature that suits your eye for the scene make a note for next time, I think you can set this in your camera before taking your next sunset.  Give it a try and lets us know how you got on.
