Pancake lens - are there any?

The Sony 16mm pancake has been the subject of lengthy, periodic debate on this site. OP should keep an open mind and do a search for those debates. It will reveal that the lens has a lot of happy owners producing creditable results. This rather modest effort of my own will give some indication of

what the lens can do.
