The optimal kit depends on what your itinerary will be like. If you're traveling by car mainly, then I think your selection is excellent. If you're heading out on the Milford Track, you may want to lighten up the load and leave that 24-70 behind. The 70-300 will be handy for occasional shots of NZ's exotic wildlife. The 16-35 will be great for those beautiful lakes around Queenstown and the cityscapes in Auckland. The Kiwis are very friendly and easy-to-meet people and you'll want something in the 80-135 range to capture those beautiful folks you're going to love.
