D600 + 28-300 travel tripod + head

I was thinking of buying a Promaster XC 522.

It folds up to less than 12", weights less than 2 #'s, and will supposedly hold up to 11 lbs.  I just looked at one at my local camera store, and it looks very nice.

Anyone use one of these are have any experience with one?  It looks like it would easily fit in a backpack or carry on bag.
