Is your "cock a-hoop " (?) over Sigma 35mm F1.4

You should be glad you didn't get it the other way round. I love my Nikon 35 mm f1.4. I can't imagine a Sigma 35 being better. The Nikon 35mm f1.4 is just about perfect in every way. All the trade offs that are done in the making of a great lens were the right decisions with this lens. Nikon really got it right on this lens.
