My "trinity" is the Tokina 12-25, Nikkor 17-55mm 2.8, and the Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8.
But for family trips, vacations, and when I want to carry just one lens (such as for a ride in a WWII trainer), I like the 18-200mm. My wife has the 18-55 and 55-200 combo, and frankly, the IQ is the same, in same range. But, I try not to use this lens for paid work.
