So give me a step by step, you lubricate the tissue and then apply or you lubricate the barrel and then wipe off? Not that I know what a silicone lubricant is.

This is the stuff I use:

http://www.screwfix.com/p/3-in-1-oil-pro-silicone-spray-lubricant-400ml/52410?kpid=52410&cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-Datafeed-_-Automotive-_-3-In-1%20Oil%20Pro%20Silicone%20Spray%20Lubricant%20400ml

You can get it from various sources, including Ebay.

I spray it on a tissue first, and wipe the barrel with the tissue. This applies an invisible dry film to the barrel. Applying it this way avoids the spray going everywhere. Silicone treated surfaces have a characteristic feel, which I've noticed new lenses have. So I suspect that it's used during the lens manufacture

I also lubricate the lens hood bayonets this way and it completely avoids the sticking problems frequently reported on Zuiko lenses. It's far better and more effective than using messy graphite.
