Adobe PhotoShop Elements 11 for $50, is this a really good deal?

Staples has this program for $50. I had planned on getting Adobe Lightroom, because of the wonderful people here advised me to. I am a complete beginner & not very tech savy. Is this a good program to start with and a good price or should I just wait?
