I believe the OP was talking about the E-3, not an ancient E-500. The E-500 came out in the days when Nikon still publicly stated that full-frame digital cameras were not feasible for them to make, it's that old.
You're not making a very strong case though, since your E-500 has a lot less dust than many of the brand new D600's people are complaining about in the Nikon forum. However, it all boils down to how you treat your camera. When I used to shoot Canon 1Ds-series, I never had dust problems, but I always took care when/how I changed lenses.
What I find most remarkable, is that you have to come in and negatively participate yet again in a thread that did not ask you for it. If you think that a Nikon D600 is built to the same dust-repellant or general build quality standards as an Olympus E-3 or E-5, I think you are completely deluded. There are two things where Olympus is (demonstrably) renowned for in their equipment: Optical superiority, and build quality superiority. There is general consensus on these two points, but we all know that it's your life's work to try and deny Olympus users these two things
Kind of ironic that you would take Sergey to task for his comments and yet not do the same for the OP, who in order to make his point, had no problem bashing CaNikon shooters. I've been shooting exclusively with Olympus DSLR gear, in numerous venues and locations. I certainly don't "always get condescending sneers from CaNikon shooters". I'm NOT a CaNikon shooter yet I find that highly offensive. What planet do they do that on? Most anywhere I've been, the majority of CaNikon shooters have been polite. On the contrary, in this forum, there are many people who react with a condescending sneer to the mere mention of Micro Four Thirds, even when in a context that is appropriate for this forum, such as the case of a OMD user who recently inquired about alternative flashes to the new FL-600r. It's as if they want to be sure that people's posts from a week and a half ago are not denied preciously scarce front page space.
Well, the fact is, that people are having a lot of dust issues with the D600, as evidenced by the many many posts complaining about this. On this forum, I dare you to find even a handful of such complaints about, say, the E-3 (since 2007, so 5 years of posts).
So why not discuss the D600's dust issues in the Nikon forum where such issues belong? Apparently you don't have a problem with it since the bashing is not against the sacred Olympus Four Thirds. Well, how about we change the subject to the sensor in the OMD versus the one in the E5. I've heard numerous complaints about the old sensor technology, lack of dynamic range, and poor high ISO performance of the E-5. I dare you to find a handful of complaints concerning the OMD.
Haven't you noticed that nobody wants your negative contributions in this forum? Do you get some sort of sick pleasure out of shooting down others' praise for their own equipment? Why don't you go and troll in the Canon forum. Oh wait, you'll be eaten alive, that's why.
Again, why not ask the OP if he got some sort of sick pleasure shooting down the D600. Have YOU noticed that nobody wants ANY negative contributions in this forum? This is not the forum to /discuss/ Four Thirds, this is the forum to either *praise* Four Thirds and bash other formats, or be silent. This is the forum to stroke the egos of Four Thirds users at any cost.
I don't understand it, your posts are universally derided in this forum - why can't we as the Olympus Four Thirds community do something to get you to stay the hell out of this forum? We don't want you here.
You can do something. Start your own Fan Club. Limit the membership to those who will agree to ignore any and every fault of Olympus Four Thirds, only praise the equipment and bash all others. I guarantee you won't find Sergey there.

People who really care about what they are doing still use large format film for any form of considered photographic art
and
Consumers, the ones who look at the rear LCD of their cameras a split-second after they took the photo (sometimes so fast, I fear for their necks) will continue to want bigger LCDs, and instant sharing. These people produce instant, fleeting snapshots that are instantly shared and forgotten a day later. The McDonalds of photography, if you will.
But, he enjoys his E5 a lot:
I have to admit, in addition to my large format tools, I myself greatly enjoy the Olympus E-5 for what it is and what it can do. It's Olympus' best shot so far at an uncompromising, professional photographic tool in the digital age, and it's a pleasure to use for the things that what I perceive to be my "real" tools can't accomplish easily.
Anyway, just sayin'...
