Limited by Apple software -- how to use RAW images from the NEX-6?

I'm in the same boat.  I don't mind waiting, but I do need to unload my SD card to make room for today's photos (Thanksgiving).  Does anyone know if I import the photos now into Aperture, will they be automatically recognized later when the update comes?  Or does it have to support the RAW format on import?

If the latter is the case, what's the best way to archive these for later import?  Image the whole card?
