Ive signed up for nyip. I have my first set of lessons, with the second set on the way. I haven't started it yet -- I knew when I registered that it would be a few months before I had the time to start it, but the price was going up so I wanted in on the old price. From what I've seen, it looked very interesting.
I was just looking in a different forum and someone recommended this Course. It also looked very interesting, unfortunately I'm one who needs books to look at, I'm not good at learning from watching. If I could, this would be awesome.
I'm not certain where you live, but another option is PSA (www.psa-photo.org). It's $45.00/year to belong to PSA, but included in that price is a course, similar in concept to nyip. You get paired up with a professional and work with him online. You'll get a .pdf file on a lesson and then homework that you submit to your professional for critique. There is a time limit on how long you have to finish this course from when you sign up. They also offer a mentoring service with 35 topics. I haven't tried this yet but it looks like you pick a topic and you get connect with a PSA member that has experience in the topic and is willing to share their expertise.
Just a couple other suggestions. If you want to have an offline discussion about nyip, PM me and I'll fill you in some more.
