Higher the magnification the shallower the DOF (In Focus Area) so the blur will be greater with 500D as the separation of subject from background will not have to be very much to get a good bokeh...

From the images you posted, they look not as sharp as the macro lens with DSLR, but they are however excellent for my use. I will order a SX50 with the 500D soon. The combination is excellent for my need.
