Why would you want to do anything else as a comparison? I.e., you are shooting a head shot from 10 ft for pleasing perspective.  What lenses and apertures would you choose for the same amount of background blur with an FF or m4/3 camera?  (Remember if you change the distance, you change the perspective.)

I see little advantage to passing on misinformation.

It's only misinformation if it's wrong.  At any given distance, the FOV and DOF of an image of the same output size taken with a sensor 2x larger (linear) at 2x the focal length and 2x the numerical f-stop is the same as with x - as every DOF calculator will tell you.
