Have we started looking at serial numbers yet? I'm wondering if they might silently fix the issue vs acknowledge it.

If that is the case then Nikon will screw thousands of early buyers. I KNOW there is a problem as MY new D600 had a dust pattern that matches this syndrome exactly. I had the dealer wet-clean it when the problem was discovered only to have it re-appear after only 50+ exposures. This is WORSE that the D800 focus problem as any horizontal frame with sky that isn't full aperture will show the spots. I shouldn't pay 2 grand for a camera that can't take a good image without post production in PS. I REALLY like the camera. It's NOT a lemon... but it has a production problem that Nikon MUST acknowledge and correct.

Everyone seems to have the same pattern of dust in the upper left corner. I know we don't have "thousands" of examples for support but it cannot be a coincidence that nearly every documented case is in the same general area.

And to note I've had my D300 since 2007 and this week is the first time I had to order a wet clean solution. I've had dust, used a rocket blower to clean it, but it's taken 5+ years to get my sensor as dirty as a 30 day old D600.
