Re: Slow startup may be from using the memory card in a computer
In reply to Indulis Bernsteins, Nov 21, 2012

If the camera works similarly to the X100 then that is very likely - every time I put my X100's memory card in my Mac I make sure to download everything and then delete all and format in camera.  The hidden files that Mac puts on the card slow down the camera horrendously - at one moment I thought my X100 had died - it took 10 seconds to switch on!  I haven't had this problem when plugging the card into a Windows PC however.

The other thing to do is get a UHS-1 SD card - my X100 is much better when using it.  I get the impression the camera may be using the memory card in similar way to Windows ReadyBoost - but that's just speculation!!
