Ted, regarding the composition, you're full of hooey!

The composition is very nice. I like that the leading line isn't 'in your face' and the rule of thirds has been approximated. This isn't science class Ted, and it's not black and white.

Other points are well made concerning the contrast, tone curve and perhaps some leveling needed. None of which would be difficult to correct in post.

+1.

This is a peaceful picture. A little straightening and a little LR adjustment will do it just fine.

Sometimes the composition rules get so stereotyped that you wind up with a cookie-cutter picture that has no soul. It's like the stereotyped "how to use a wide angle lens" stuff that shows rusty tractors with front ends the size of an elephant. It's a neato special effect, but I wouldn't put that picture up on my wall (maybe an "inspirational" corporate break-room poster company would buy it and layer it with a motivational slogan).

And who cares if the bridge has been photogaphed before? This isn't a PhD thesis with an "original work" requirement. Have some compassion around here.

Nobody "cares" if it has been photographed before except that when there is an iconic scene, and for N.E. Ohio this is about as iconic as Mt. Ranier is to the Pacific N.W. taken by a lot of pro and amature photographers it is almost impossible not to compare it to those photos.  I only make reference to those to illustrate how professionals and other amatures tend to choose to compose that scene.

If you knew what I was talking and had seen those photo's (you don't have to look hard to find them) you would know what I am talking about.  The OP was literally a few feet from where the commercial guys take that photo.  So it is  almost impossible not to do the comparison.
