I've never found Canon's color renditions to be to my liking, and need to do a little work with Nikon renditions to get them to my taste...no camera comes 'out of the gate' with default colors that I consider 100% perfect for me...but Sony seems to get it closest to what I like, and require minimal settings alterations to nail it.

This is all too much work for me. It's also subjective and I don't think I have an especially good eye for color either.

So my solution is to shoot a color calibration target and create my own ACR profiles for each camera I own. This:

* Minimizes manufacturer specific bias

* Gives me way more consistency between cameras

* Is as objective as I can reasonably achieve
