I have the "cheapo trinity" - 18-55mm, 55-200mm, and 35mm and I am perfectly happy with their performance. My issue is that the poor 55-200mm never gets used because when I go out I always grab the camera with the 18-55mm or the 35mm...

I love the 55-200 but I think I only used it 2-3 times this year because of inconvenience (and laziness). I tried to make myself use it more but with 2 kids in tow almost all the time changing lenses is not a quick thing. I also tried to always bring all of the lenses with me and leave them in the car but rarely ever went back in to swap them.

However, many times I wish I had the 55-200 on to get the shot I want.

Does it make sense for me to get the 18-200mm to replace the 18-55 and 55-200? I am fully aware I would be compromising the IQ for convenience but my 55-200 almost never gets used anyway. Am I the "perfect candidate" for the 18-200?

If not, I am getting a newer body and keeping the "cheapo trinity".
