Playing around with NEX-6 and Rokkor-X
Nov 21, 2012

I'm new to this site and photography in general. I just bought a NEX-6 and am really enjoying learning how to shoot in full manual using a couple old legacy lenses I bought online.

Today I decided to compare the 16-50 kits lens to a Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 under identical conditions/settings. I could not believe the difference. Here are two small crops from near the center of each photo. The Rokkor-X really blows the kit lens away.

Both were shot at 50mm, ISO 800, f/5.6, and shutter speed 1/10. Also, I am using a Novoflex MD-NEX adapter that I paid a small fortune for.

I'm interested to hear the opinions of others. Is this a shared experience?
