I only have the 7 and previously the 5, and so I can't really comment on how the 6 works with manual focus lenses.

The sensor on the 7 is notoriously difficult with non-telecentric lenses, and the 6 could be better.

The 7 allows you to configure the AEL button to magnify the focus (either hold or toggle). This makes a massive difference in handling to me over the 5 when dealing with manual focus lenses.

The 7's finder is also high-resolution and contrasty making it well-suited for focusing IMO.
