I bought AfterShot Pro in January using a really good upgrade price from Bibble Pro.

I've seen AfterShot Pro on sale from time to time since then (at prices ranging from $49.99 to $89.99).

From my perspective, even at the full list price of $99.99, it's still a great deal. Keep in mind that Bibble Pro was selling for twice as much (it was listed at $199).

Given the current sale price of only $39.99 I see on their product page right this minute, I just don't see how you could go wrong if you need an app with it's features (great image management features, raw conversion, etc.).

Just the time savings from one day's shoot would probably pay for that, since it's so useful in rating images (one star, two starts, etc.), letting you browse images using rating filters, tags you assign, and more (so you can easily narrow down your keepers) with unmatched performance (even if you don't consider the value of it's [non destructive] editing features).

So, if you need an app that can do that kind of thing for you (and anyone shooting a lot of images probably does), I'd probably grab it while it's on sale at a price that low.

IOW, I'd download the trial and see if it works OK for you real quick,  and get it while it's still on sale (versus spending 30 days using a trial version first, since there's no telling how long they'll offer a sale price that low)
