Sorry to hear you are having problems with the grip. Mine has been fine so far and in the equatorial heat and humidity, it is holding up very well. The glue used to hold these things todether usually melt off pretty quickly over here.

Did the Sony Store not fix your camera? The Sony Service centre have been very good to me and replaced my LCD in one day as well as fixed the stuck power switch and a couple other problems on the spot (within an hour) - all free of charge. The warrantee was unregistered to boot.
