The value of a curreny
In reply to 28to70, Nov 20, 2012

I have never understood the obsession with a gold linked currency some in the US have, nothing has value except what other men deem it to have, gold, paper, the painting on my wall, nothing.

China became incredibly wealthy because it artificially set the value of its currency lower than it would have been in a free market and it maintains that practice to this day. Economically it wants US currency to be as valuable as it can be because it does not want you to produce anything, it wants you to consume everything.

If you could convince your government to re-link your currency to gold I guarantee you that it would spawn huge parties throughout China.
