Me too.

What a wonderful scene for a photographer. Here's what I would do:

1. Consider reshooting as a pano. Put the camera on a tripod with a vertical orientation. Pan and shoot 10-12 frames with at least 30% overlap between each frame. Keep the camera on fixed manual settings (you don't want the ISO, WB, etc. changing between frames).

2. Stitch the shots together with some panorama software such as Ptgui, Autopano, or Microsoft ICE. The latter is free. You should be able to solve all of the distortion and perspective problems this way.

3. Even better, shoot several different exposures for each frame. In that case, you can blend the exposures using software (I'd suggest Enfuse) and then stitch together the pano.
