My D200 has a rule of thirds grid in the viewfinder that I can turn on and off.
I'd bet money that it hasn't. The grid splits the view into 16 segments, "rule of thirds" would be 9 segments.
Technically you're right but its close enough to help you compose with a little imagination. Its just a composition aid.. its not a rigid rule. If you stick everything on the rule of thirds intersection points its gonna get old quick...
However, if all you want is the rule of thirds intersection points, the D200 has those too. The corner AF points are on the rule of thirds intersection points.
