Shoulder strap ruins D-800

Maybe that is a good idea.  I do use RRS "L" bracket but that too mounts to the tripod base.  I suppose that by hooking a strap to the vertical section of the "L" bracket rather than the tripod screw might work.  This would put the suspension point above one end of the camera and the load on the screw would be in shear.  Gotta think about this idea.
