If you add 1.4xTC to 70-200/2.8, you will have 280 at f4, that one stop faster than 300m at f5.6 from 70-300 zoom, assuming both lenses sharp at wide open. In my own experience, the only lens in Sony a-mount can be sharp when 1.4xTC attached is the latest Sigma 70-200 OS HSM, sharper than Sony's expensive 70-200G (I have this and never use 1.4xTC with it, it's just soft). I don't know about Tamron 70-200 but you can always try 1.4xTC to see if it deliver acceptable sharpness and AF speed. OTOH I do have Tamron 70-300 Di USD which cost about $400, it's a very sharp lens with fast and reliable AF too.
