Tamron 70-200 + 1.4 TC or SAL-70300G?
Nov 19, 2012

When I bought into the system I picked up the Tamron 70-200 2.8. So far it has been a great lens. It seems quite sharp right from 2.8.

Originally I was planning of picking up a sigma 1.4 TC to give myself some extra reach. A couple of reviews that I read stated the Tamron's resolution holds up better with sigma's TC than sigma's own 70-200.

The TC would give me a 98-280 4.0.

However Sony's SAL-70300G has grabbed my eye. I'd be willing to give up a little bit of Aperture if it meant better resolution/image quality.

Anyone compared the SAL-70300G vs a 70-200 +TC combo?

Any opinions, thoughts or suggestions?
