Camera for an older person?

I've not looked at compacts in a looooong time.

My wife would like to get her 70+ year old mother a camera. The requirements are:

  • Good sized screen
  • Easy controls
  • Easy-press/access button (arthritic hands)
  • Not too small, to avoid making it hard for an older person to hold

I am also thinking maybe either AA batteries or a camera that recharges from a cord (i.e. don't have to take out the battery pack).

I am sure she will get the pictures developed at a photo kiosk or Walgreens, so nothing else really is needed other than the basics.

Anything jump to mind for anyone, given the above?
