If a lower elevation was impossible to attain, then it can be fixed in post with a vertical tilt and a crop, like this:

It's a nice urban landscape you've made. Probably better to call it a landscape rather than a portrait.

The 16-50 is looking better and better to me.

The tops of the towers are leaning in because the camera is tilted upward, not because it's tilted downward.  At a wide angle such as this 16mm shot if the camera were tilted downward the bases of the towers would be leaning in.
