I am thinking about buying 5D Mark III as a complement to my Pentax K-5 and compact Canon G1X.

As English may possibly not be your native language, first let me commend you on your proper use of the word complement..........90% of people whose native tongue is English here mean well but they misuse it with compliment......

And I thank his complimenton my photos

Do you have experience of 5D with 24-105 as travel camera? How about the zoom range?

My 24-105 lives on my 5DII and is only removed for very specific purposes, i.e., macro or wildlife. It's not my best lens but it is my favorite lens especially for travel for it's IS and useful range.

Agreed.  Even with 24-70L/2.8 II and Tamron 24-70/2.8 VC into consideration, 24-105L arguably is still the best overall choice and compromise if you only carry one lens in travelling.  It has extra 35mm tele range, it has 'IS' that is very effective (I usually don't quite trust third party VC or OS) and it has excellent colors and sharpness (at least at 2/3 of center and mid areas that I care most).  Having said that, I will get 24-70L II and understand I do need 70-200L/4.0 IS to complement each other.  A bit of inconvenience and heavier, but I can use f/2.8 if necessary that still sharp even at edges, less distortion at 24mm, better bokeh in portraiture and slightly better micro contrast.  Only individuals can decide if worth 2-3X price more than its competitors.
