D400, D700x, Dwhatever?

There are those who believe that there will be no D400, while others have suggested that the D400 will be an even "entrier"-level FX camera than the D600.  And Nikon seems to be beefing up the lineup of more affordable FX lenses as of late.  So, if Nikon introduces a D7200 and no DX D400, then doesn't that leave room for a D700x speed camera?  If so, what would be the possible specs, and that would seem to imply that Nikon would have to announce a new chip that currently hasn't been talked about?  So, will Nikon introduce a D700 replacement?  I just can't see Nikon not introducing one or the other replacement bodies.
