I can't guarantee you that the green spot in the tree is a flare ghost. In fact it's probably not. With all the light sources pointed at the camera and colored lights shining up into the trees, it's hard to say what it is. It's not excessive green-channel sensitivity.

In case you haven't seen it, there's a post with the sun in the 16-50 frame.  It shows some veiling flare, but flare performance looks pretty good in this case.

My experience is that ghosts come and go depending on slight changes the angle between the lens's optical axis and the axis along which an in-frame light source radiates most strongly.  Often you can eliminate them by reframing or by moving a meter or so in one direction or another to change that angle.

And yes, there's a built-in UV filter in the camera's sensor stack.
