D800: what's the point?

A slightly easier time coping with Moire. Thats about all. If you are a wedding Photog IMO you would be crazy to buy an 800E.

I have used both and the difference is miniscule as regards sharpness, most of which can be undone with a bit of deconvolution in NX2.

Usability and focus accuracy is massively better with the D800 compared to the D600 or D7000

The D800 can give you money compared to D800E. Nothing else. Less aliasing in rare cases maybe.
