Do you use 5D III plus 24-105 as travel camera?

Just returned from a 21 day cruise to Dalmation coast, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Malta and Italy with the theme of Ancient and Holy Lands.  Took 1D4 and 5D3 with 35L, 16-35L and 24-105L lens. Experience was that I used 5D3 with 24-105L 80% of the time but it would have performed well for all my needs including low light situations.  Considered taking the 70-300L but decided was too heavy and glad that I left it at home.  I use a hand-strap on the 5D3 and for me that is preferable to a neck type strap.  the 24-105L was as perfect as I could expect toating around all day.  Reach was more than adequate and crop did a good with of any additional need.  The lower end was workable for tight and wide opportunities.  I really like this combination for varied "walking around" photo opportunities on a trip of this scale.
