Agreed. No one disagrees the Sigma30f2.8 is sharp enough to take fine photos. I don't think anyone will say the Sony50f1.8 is a piece of crap either.

Conclusion: both are good enough to take fine photos under many conditions, providing different focal lengths depending on personal style... with the Sony50f1.8 (IMO) being even more versatile being faster and having OSS. I was walking up the stairs with my camera and my son was sitting there tying his shoe. I was able to snag this quick pic with the 50f1.8.. The test samples do not make me wish I would have had the Sigma 30 more so than the Sony 50.
