White balance - Photoshop PP vs ACR PP

When post-processing in Photoshop the first thing I do is adjust Levels. Its my habit to hold down the Alt key (Windows) while moving the histogram's white / black sliders for red, green and then blue. I only move the sliders towards the centre when the peaks in the image show through, Then back the sliders off. The technique works well.
But when I work on a RAW image using Adobe Camera Raw or RAWTherapy there is no equivalent technique available.
So, my question is; Is there any technique when post-processing RAW images that gives one the visual feedback that Photoshop's Levels adjustment does?
